Michael Houston

Having somehow managed to avoid joining G&S during his time at uni, Michael joined after graduating and going into the real world.1

After performing in the chorus for The Pirates of Penzance and Ruddigore, and shocking us all as Brad in the Rocky Horror section of Kaleidoshow, Mike had made himself and his technical skills so indispensible that he became technical director for the 2008 summer show. His first central hall principal role came in the form of Pish-Tush in The Mikado 2009 (in a sharp suit and with a - now slightly bent - telescopic pointer).

He was appointed TD for the 2009 summer show, You Can't Stop The Beat, a position which sees him claiming the record for the fastest ever committee decision, from the beginning of the pitch to final vote in just 20 seconds. He has been overseeing the construction of a new set, and as head of the technical team for The Sorcerer 2010 he still claimed to be doing so, even though the current tally is 5 flats, slightly short of the 13 originally planned. We might be getting suspicious, but it's Mike. You can't suspect him. He's too…nice.
